Artist Statement

My artistic practice is rooted in a deep fascination with the transformative power of vibrant and bold colors. Colors, to me, hold the ability to convey and evoke a range of emotions, influencing the viewer's perception and connection with the artwork.

Claudia Villalobos – Artist, Educator, and Advocate

Born in Seattle, Claudia  grew up in the culturally vibrant Beacon Hill neighborhood. Her passion for art was ignited during childhood and blossomed into adulthood, fueled by the rich diversity of the Pacific Northwest and her deep connection to her Hispanic heritage.

Claudia’s journey as an artist took a transformative turn when she became a mother. She discovered that creating and teaching art provided her with peace and fulfillment, inspiring her to share this gift with others. She founded mobile art workshops to make art more accessible, focusing on underserved communities. These workshops have grown to serve both children and adults, blending creativity with emotional wellness.

A strong believer in the power of art as a connector, Claudia works tirelessly to bring families together through nourishing creative events and to introduce youth to art as a career pathway. She collaborates with community members and organizations to curate spaces for murals, gallery exhibitions, and art therapy workshops.

Beyond her community work, Claudia partners with corporate clients, offering team-building art workshops that foster collaboration and creativity in the workplace. She also teaches entrepreneurial skills to high schoolers, empowering them to envision art as a viable career.

Claudia’s latest endeavor includes opening her own studio, where she hopes to continue inspiring others. She is also embarking on a documentary project to chronicle her personal and professional journey in the arts.

When not immersed in her work, Claudia enjoys exploring the world through travel, attending art shows, and indulging in spontaneous adventures. A lover of the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest, she finds joy in its breathtaking sunrises and sunsets, which often inspire her creations.

Through her art, Claudia aims to uplift, connect, and empower, leaving an indelible mark on her community and beyond.
