This is Claudia's second year with this program and continues to offer services to the SAM community. Claudia Villalobos led a series of three nature-inspired, repurposed art workshops designed for families at one of Seattle's most iconic parks. Inspired by the Seattle Asian Art Museum's Asian art collection, the workshops invited children and their caregivers to explore world cultures through hands-on, sustainable art-making while fostering creativity, cultural appreciation, and a deeper connection to nature.

Claudia has served as a teaching artist on this city wide launch for 2 consecutive years. Including the pilot launch in 2025 and will continue through the 2026 summer. Claudia was selected as part of the important Initiative As part of Mayor Harrell’s Reach Out Initiative, free summer arts activities and mental health resources for Seattle teens are available at several local community centers. From July 21 through August 23, 2025, Seattle youth and young adults ages 13 to 19 can participate in Community Hub programs—a series of free, drop-in programming at 7 sites citywide with programming offered in partnership with the Office of Arts & Culture and Seattle Parks & Recreation.

Available offerings include arts-based classes taught by local teaching artists from the Office of Arts & Culture Creative Advantage roster.
